Priscilla Lau — A phylogenetic state-dependent Ornstein-Uhlenbeck model

Priscilla presented a talk in the Probabilistic Modeling in Genomics (ProbGen) 2026 between 25-28 March in Berkeley, United States, where she talked about the performance of the state-dependent Ornstein--Uhlenbeck model through simulation studies.

Haoqing Du — A phylogenetic perspective on the sex-biased evolution of gene expression in Drosophila

SMBE 2026, Copenhagen, Denmark, June/July 2026

Haoqing presented a poster in SMBE 2026, the annual meeting of the Society of Molecular Biology & Evolution held between 28 June and 2 July in Copenhagen, Denmark, where he shared his phylogenetic study on sex-biased gene expression in Drosophila.

Priscilla Lau — Why you should use a joint inference approach to study macroevolutionary adaptation

Priscilla presented a talk in MACRO 2026, which was held by the British Ecological Society between 15 and 17 July in Reading, United Kingdom. She convinced fellow macroevolutionary biolgist and macroecologists that joint inference should be used when studying macroevolutionary adaptation.

Gustavo Darlim — Assessment of Notosuchia phylogenetics through tip-dating Bayesian inference

Paleo4Alps, Bolzano, Italy, July 2026

Alessio and Gustavo presented their ongoing work in Paleo4Alps - Joint Meeting of the Italian, German, Austrian and Swiss Paleontological Societies, which took place in Bolzano, Italy between 19 and 23 July. In Gustavo's talk, he addressed systematica and diversification dynamics of Notosuchians (Cretaceous terrestrial crocodyliforms from Gondwana). Meanwhile, Alessio presented a talk with the title "Total-evidence tip-dating reveals macroevolutionary dynamics in deep-sea squaliform sharks".

Wenjie Zhu — Challenges in genomic species delimitation: insights from European Luciola fireflies

MASAMB 2026, Cambridge, United Kingdom, September 2026

Wenjie presented her work at the Mathematical and Statistical Aspects of Molecular Biology (MASAMB) meeting in Cambridge, United Kingdom on September 7th. Her talk, "Challenges in genomic species delimitation: insights from European Luciola fireflies," revealed unrecognized diversity in this group. The study also showed how heterogeneous genomic data can be integrated for species delimitation and highlighted the challenges of reconciling results across delimitation methods.
